How GST is calculated

Adding GST (amount is GST-exclusive): GST = Amount × Rate ÷ 100; Total = Amount + GST.

Removing GST (amount is GST-inclusive): Base = Amount × 100 ⁄ (100 + Rate); GST = Amount − Base.

For intra-state supply the GST splits equally into CGST and SGST (half each). For inter-state supply the same total is charged as a single IGST.
